Zola Jesus-“I Can’t Stand”

Absolutely Beautiful. A little dark and early nineties, but there’s something captivating about her vocals and the instrumentals seem to create a cavernous sound to just crawl inside of. Recently released Stridulum EP, to be reviewed soon.

Gonjasufi- “She Gone”

This song is amazingly raw and lo-fi. I will try to get his new album A Sufi and a Killer to see if it holds up to this song.

YellowFever- “Ratcatcher”

I’m in love with YellowFever, they are off the Vivian Girls’ record label and their sound is just kindof timeless and buzzing. Their recent self-titled release is pretty awesome and a full review will be up soon.

ART MUSEUMS “S.H.O.P.P.I.N.G.” (Woodsist) from Kerry McLaughlin on Vimeo.

Art Museums is also a band I need to get my act together about and finally finish the review. They are so warm and old feeling. Can’t get the video up, but the link is above. Enjoy.

Sorry folks, but writing’s been pushed to the backburner sadly. But please check out White Hinterland. Their album Kairos just came out on the 9th. Reviews to come soon hopefully!

February is way too short a month

As per usual, there is not enough time in the day. And as per February, there was not enough time in the month. Days collide like astroids and make it nearly impossible to get everything done. And as per usual, a groundhog decided our fate in terms of how much more winter we will have left. (That happened three weeks ago, time is a bitch, sorry folks). Who in the hell invented Groundhog Day? This year, Punxatawney Phil saw his shadow, so we have 6 more weeks of winter, apparently. But Who decided it was a groundhog who predicts our weather? As written in Wikipedia, the idea is all folklore. So why do we rely on a giant woodchuck? Oh well, I guess we only have three more weeks to go right?

Stay tuned for music and real updates soon!
